GF Piping Systems, one of the leading providers of pipe systems worldwide, relies on KraussMaffei Berstorff’s pipe extrusion system to expand its production capacity in Asia.
The company has entrusted KraussMaffei Berstorff with the task of delivering two pipe extrusion systems brought into operation at the Taman Perindustrian Air Hitam, Klang location near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
QuickSwitch Technology for cost-effective and flexible production
GF Piping Systems has chosen KraussMaffei’s QuickSwitch Technology, proof that processors in Asia also find value in the cost-effective aspects of the in-line dimension change system, according to Andreas Kessler, General Sales Manager at KraussMaffei Berstorff Munich.
With this system, Georg Fischer (GF) will produce HDPE pipes using the QuickSwitch process for the 160 – 250 mm diameter range and will generate an enormous potential for savings due to the high-performance capacity and productivity. Small order batches and the elimination of set-up times provide maximum flexibility and real competitive advantage.
Three-layer system for SILENTA 3A production
The latest investment includes another system that produces three-layer sewer pipes made of Polypropylene. This piping system is sold under the brand name SILENTA 3A. With its noise insulating properties, it is primarily used as domestic drainage pipes in multi-story buildings.
Georg Fischer Malaysia has been continuously evolving since it was founded in 1996. The standalone subsidiary sells premium quality pipe systems for various applications, such as building systems, water and gas lines and fittings that are adapted to the specific market requirements in Asia. The Taman Perindustrian Air Hitam, Klang location (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) facility has 50 employees.
