The K 2019 Fair is an international trade fair for plastics and rubber, which unites leaders in the sector from around the globe. This show is a central forum for the exchange of information, ideas and views and more than 230, 000 visitors and 3200 exhibitors are expected to attend this year. Visitors represent over 160 countries while the exhibitors hail from more than 60 countries.  Described as “The world’s no.1 trade fair for plastics and rubber”, K is considered to be the top international event of the industry.

This event takes place every three years and is considered to be one of the most important events for the plastics and rubber industry.  The K Fair will be taking place over eight days, from the 16th to the 23rd of October. This years’ event will be taking place at the Düsseldorf Fair and Exhibition Centre, over an area of around 175, 000 square metres.

This year, noteworthy topics include Plastics Industry 4.0, Plastics for sustainable development, young professionals and systems integration. The central topic of the fair is a circular economy. K 2019 will include showcases and presentations related to product categories such as:

  • Raw materials and auxiliaries
  • Machinery and equipment
  • Semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastics
  • Services, research and science

Under the mantle of the main topic, “Circular economy at K”, talks are set to include discussions relating to:

  • Recycling plastics with bio-technology

  • Innovative materials with carbon fibres made from algae
  • Recycling plastic: Vinyl Polymer broken down into aspirin components
  • Recycling plastics sensibly.

Significant events at the fair will include the “Plastics shape the future” show and talk, as well as the Science Campus. This Science Campus presents a forum for both research and teaching, and universities, colleges and scientific institutions will be on hand to present their latest research and speak to attendees.
